I’m back! After a year and a half of not blogging, I’m finally back at it. I decided to keep my blog on hold as I focused more on stuff in real life, but I thought now was great time to restart something I enjoyed doing. Of course, coming back to blogging didn’t end up being as easy as I anticipated. To start, my laptop decided to die on me two days before my initial restart day. Long story short, my motherboard unexpectedly died, and now I’m on the hunt for a new laptop. (If you’re wondering how I’m writing this now, it’s because I’m borrowing my boyfriend’s old laptop for the time being).
For my first post back, I thought I would talk about the challenge and giveaway I’m doing on my Instagram. A few months ago, I was talking to my friend Sam (@readwithsam), and I told her how I wanted to do the Rory Gilmore reading challenge. The reading challenge consists of reading all the books mentioned in Gilmore Girls; that’s a total of 339 books. For years I’ve been meaning to do this challenge, but I never made it a priority. So when talking to Sam, I suggested we make it into a mini challenge on our Instagrams, and include a little giveaway attached to it.
Our challenge consists of this:
– Read a book by a BIPOC
– Read a book that intimidates you
– Read a classic
– Read a children’s book
– Reread a book
– Post about your favourite book on the list
– Read a non-fiction book
– Read a book by an author you haven’t read before
– Post a story or picture with your favourite mug
– Read a book with a school setting
As for the giveaway, two lucky people will win a Penguin Clothbound Edition of Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë. To enter, you must be following @readwithsam and me (@readcaffeinated) on Instagram. You also must use the hashtag #2020rgchallenge to be entered. The giveaway period is June 1st to November 30th, 2020. The giveaway ends on November 30th, 2020 at 11:59 PM EST. This gives everyone enough time to read for the challenge and not feel rushed. We wanted to share our love of reading, and hopefully give two people a beautiful edition to display on their shelf.
I’m so happy to be blogging again! I’ll be posting once a week on Fridays, so keep a look out for more posts!
I’m also linking Copperboom Studios’ amazing printables for the challenge.
Have you read any books on the Rory Gilmore reading list? Let me know in the comments!
