Project Pan 2019, and 2018 Results

For the past 2 years, I’ve been doing project pans to finish up the makeup that I own. I don’t own a lot of makeup, but I also think it’s important not to buy a lot that you can never finish. It’s good for your wallet, and the environment too! I’ve been really successful with my project pans, and I hope that I’ll finish a lot more products this year.

The one thing I learned from 2018, was that lip products take a billion years to finish. I’m almost done a lipstick (Aquarius Lippie Stix by Colourpop), but it’s still going strong into 2019. That’s one product I know for sure will be finished this year. There were quite a bit of lip products that I gave away, or threw out because they were very old. However, I think in 2019, I won’t have that issue because I like all of my makeup products, and don’t own anything that’s ancient. I also realized that sometimes I use a product a lot without even noticing, and unexpectedly pan it. I’m pretty happy with my results this year, but I think I can do better in 2019.

Here is what I panned/finished in 2018:
– Caramel eyeshadow by Too Faced
– Beaches and Cream eyeshadow by Makeup Geek
– Porter eyeshadow by Colourpop
– Weenie eyeshadow by Colourpop
– At The Beach Spray by Bath & Body Works
– Peaches and Cream eyeshadow by Too Faced
– Nectar eyeshadow by Too Faced
– Wattles eyeshadow by Colourpop
– L’oreal Eyebrow Definer in Dark Brunette
– Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara
– Maybelline Total Temptation Mascara
– Maybelline Total Temptation Brow Pencil
– Burt’s Bee’s lip balm

In 2019, I want to pan the following makeup products:
– Pan 5 eyeshadows in the Too Faced Sweet Peach palette
– Pan 5 eyeshadows in the ABH Modern Renaissance palette
– Colourpop eyeshadow in Stereo
– Milani Nude lip liner
– MAC Morning Coffee lip liner
– NYX lip liner in Nude
– Annabelle lip liner in Boisenberry
– MAC Amorous lipstick
– Urban Decay Naked lipstick
– Clinique liquid liner
– Colourpop Mr. Bing eyeliner
– Bite Beauty Agave Lip Masks in Candy Cane, Maple, and Natural
– Burt’s Bees Lip Balm
– Tarte Sensual Blush
– Fenty Beauty Foundation in 130
– Rimmel Concealer in 125
– Elf highlighter in Moonlight Pearls
– Essence Make Me Brow

Obviously, if I pan anything not on this list, that would be great as well. I want to make use of my products, so whatever I pan means I got my money’s worth! Hopefully, my 2019 results will be epic. What are you planning on panning this year? Let me know if you would like to see a mid-year results post.

Project Pan 2017 Results

The year is almost over, and I have completed my first project pan! I decided to do this with the intention of using up the makeup I own. I may not have a lot of makeup as other people, but I still think it’s important to be using the products you buy. What’s the point of having a whole bunch of makeup if it’s just collecting dust? After a few months of the project, I actually finished a few items! Yay!

This is a picture of the products before. I can’t believe how much I used!

Processed with VSCO with hb2 preset

What I finished:
1. Too Faced Creme Lipstick in Honey Bear
2. Tarte Tarteist Creamy Matte Lip Paint in Honey Bear
3. Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara (x3) (always repurchasing)
4. L’OrĂ©al Brow Stylist Definer in Dark Brunette (x2) (always repurchasing)
5. Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer in Fair

What I panned:
1. Too Faced Semi Sweet Palette – Shades: Coconut Creme, Butter Pecan, Nougat
2. Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer in Light Bronzer
3. Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Powder in Porcelain (almost done!)

I’m proud of myself for being able to finish a few makeup items this year. I didn’t end up panning, or finishing, everything I intended to, but I did use them more often! Some things I decluttered because I didn’t like the ingredients. The whole project taught me what makeup products I like, and what I really should skip on. For example, I loved the Too Faced lipstick, but I didn’t like the smell at all. Now, I know that I like sheer lipsticks, but I need to buy one that smells nice! I also figured out that I don’t like face powders that make me look powdery, and the Maybelline one does just that.

I hope that in 2018, I will be able to purchase some items that work better for me. It can be difficult to find your favourite makeup item, but after a few trials and errors, you might just find the right thing. That’s what I’m hoping for next year, that I’ll find a few more holy grail items to replace some of the things I have panned. And, who knows, maybe I’ll be doing another project pan next year.

What are some makeup items you have finished?
