BookTubeAThon 2018 TBR

BOOKTUBEATHON 2018 TBR
Finally the BookTubeAThon is here again! I’ve been anticipating this all year, and I’m very excited to try out these new challenges. I had a pretty successful challenge last year, and I hope that this year I’ll actually be able to finish 7 books in 7 days. It seems like a crazy goal, but I think I’m up for the challenge. I am going to be sensible though. If I only have 7 days to finish 7 books, I’m not going to pick an 800 page book to read. The smaller the better is what I’m aiming for.

Here are the 7 books I want to read:
1. A Room of One’s Own by Virginia Woolf (Let a coin toss decide your first read).
2. Nostalgia by M. G. Vassanji (Let a coin toss decide your first read).
3. In the Skin of a Lion by Michael Ondaatje (Read seven books).
4. Ariel by Sylvia Plath (Read a book with green on the cover/read a book while wearing the same hat the whole time).
5. This I Know by Terry O’Reilly (Read a book about something you want to do).
6. Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chobsky (Read and watch a book to movie adaptation).
7. The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald (Read a book with a beautiful spine).

I love the challenges for this readathon. I like how there’s nothing I’ve seen before in a reading challenge. One thing I know for sure is that I can’t read a book with a hat on the whole time without looking like a complete fool. I decided to pair that challenge with a smaller book so I can read outside and not look strange to my friends and family. I chose to do a mix of books I have read, and haven’t read, because I wanted a bit of variety in my reading for the week. Additionally, some of these books I haven’t read since I was 16 or 17, and I want to see if they are still as good as I remember.

Are you planning on participating in the readathon? If you are, what are you planning on reading?

July TBR 2018

July 2018 TBR
After a somewhat successful reading month in June, I wanted to continue that into July. I decided I wanted to revisit one of my favourite novels, like Pride and Prejudice, and of course, read some books I haven’t yet. I think my goal for this month is to read as many books as I can. If I’m not mistaken, the BookTubeAthon is in July, and I know there will be a week of nonstop reading for me coming up ahead. So, I’m definitely keeping this in mind with my reading pile for the month. Whatever the prompts are for the readathon, I may have to change, or add, the books I’ll read, but we’ll see what happens!
