BOOKTUBEATHON RESULTS
The BookTubeAThon is officially over, and I’m honestly proud with the amount of reading I accomplished. In 7 days, I was able to read 4 books! I’m almost sure that’s how many books I read during last year’s readathon, but I could be wrong. I probably would have finished all 7 books if I neglected all other things in my life. That’s why this BookTubeAThon is a challenge. It’s not meant to be so easy to read this many books in such a short amount of time. I would like to think that maybe one day I’ll be able to read 7 books in 7 days, but I’m not going to beat myself over it if I don’t.

During the readathon, I was able to read:
1. Nostalgia by M. G. Vassanji: 4/5 (This book was my coin toss book).
2. Ariel by Sylvia Plath: 5/5 (This book was my green book and wear a hat challenge).
3. A Room of One’s Own by Virginia Woolf: 5/5
4. Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chboksy 5/5 (This was my movie adaption pick).

I was able to complete most of the challenges, but I definitely didn’t finish all of them. I did decide what book to read with the coin toss, but the second book in that coin toss hasn’t even been touched yet. Also, I wasn’t able to watch the adaptation of Perks of Being a Wallflower yet, which I will sometime this week. I have read the book and watched the movie before, so I don’t feel too bad about not completing this challenge. In regards to the other books I haven’t read, I’ll be adding them to my to-be-read pile for the month, so that’s why there’s not a TBR post for August.

Overall, I’m really happy with how the week progressed, and that I was able to read as many books as I did. I really hope that I’ll be able to continue this motivation to read throughout the rest of the month. I’ve been in a sort of reading slump in the past few months, and I really just want to take the time to read and unwind.

BOOKTUBEATHON 2018 TBR
Finally the BookTubeAThon is here again! I’ve been anticipating this all year, and I’m very excited to try out these new challenges. I had a pretty successful challenge last year, and I hope that this year I’ll actually be able to finish 7 books in 7 days. It seems like a crazy goal, but I think I’m up for the challenge. I am going to be sensible though. If I only have 7 days to finish 7 books, I’m not going to pick an 800 page book to read. The smaller the better is what I’m aiming for.

Here are the 7 books I want to read:
1. A Room of One’s Own by Virginia Woolf (Let a coin toss decide your first read).
2. Nostalgia by M. G. Vassanji (Let a coin toss decide your first read).
3. In the Skin of a Lion by Michael Ondaatje (Read seven books).
4. Ariel by Sylvia Plath (Read a book with green on the cover/read a book while wearing the same hat the whole time).
5. This I Know by Terry O’Reilly (Read a book about something you want to do).
6. Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chobsky (Read and watch a book to movie adaptation).
7. The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald (Read a book with a beautiful spine).

I love the challenges for this readathon. I like how there’s nothing I’ve seen before in a reading challenge. One thing I know for sure is that I can’t read a book with a hat on the whole time without looking like a complete fool. I decided to pair that challenge with a smaller book so I can read outside and not look strange to my friends and family. I chose to do a mix of books I have read, and haven’t read, because I wanted a bit of variety in my reading for the week. Additionally, some of these books I haven’t read since I was 16 or 17, and I want to see if they are still as good as I remember.

Are you planning on participating in the readathon? If you are, what are you planning on reading?
